Welcome to our home page. We hope it will have useful information and links both for prospective students and those already enrolled. Members of our department are active scholars who also give a great deal of attention to the quality of their teaching. We are proud that several members of the department have been recognized with teaching and scholarly achievement awards. A potential strength of a small university is that it affords opportunities to work closely with students. In our major, minor, and honours programs we strive to do this by giving individual attention to students from the introductory to the senior level.
A new feature of our program is the Applied Public History Course, which exposes senior students to real-life work situations in local archives, museums, galleries, and the public service. The honours program has also been redesigned to allow students to complete the degree within four years of study. Our honours graduates have an impressive track record in graduate and professional schools.
Should you need further information on our programs, or want advice on course selection, please feel free to drop in, phone, or contact any of us by e-mail.
